Big Buddha Belly


The  Big Buddha Belly, soft and round with no tension. The breath going deep into the lower abdomen, easily and gently. The internal organs hanging with no stress. Long exhales, grounding your self solidly in this earth. Warm, open and smiling. Vertical, soft and open. Listening instead of talking.

This is the position for learning. It is known from the yoga world that sitting like this is when knowledge can be transmitted and received.

Tight chest, energy up in your neck and head is the opposite. A constricted throat, a flushed face, a fast pace of talking all are indications you are not in the Big Buddha Belly state. Both flight and fright are found trapped in this tight energy state. You utilize a small fraction of your breath, litterally our of breath as you are flooded with tension. Where in your body do you feel this tension when it arises?

Most of us spend way to much time in this tight spot. It can result in a build up of stress in both the body and mind. Good executives notice this, great executives know how to flow this energy back into a Big Buddha Belly for better performance.
