Good executives, musicians, moms or martial artists have a real sense of being grounded and balanced. They look steady as a rock physically, emotionally, energetically and intellectually. They are stable and upright, appearing very balanced and together.
I will share a secret with you: they are never Balanced they just look this way because their swings and oscillations are so small and refined. Their years of practice Center has helped them maintain smaller swings than most people. Many of us have extreme swings in moods, emotions, physical responses, etc. The Masters are not really always in Balance, but they have developed the skills and muscles to quickly come back to Center.
This is like the swings on the playground. Most people have large to and fro movements while the Centered have smaller more controlled back and forth movements. Sometimes so small not to be noticed by the untrained eye.
The key is how quickly, effectively and efficiently you can ReBalance when pulled off Center. This muscle of Rebalancing is really a key to getting to improve your leadership skills at home and at work.
Do you know a good leader who can ReBalance quickly? Do you know an executive who struggles with large mood swings? Where are you on this topic?
Rebalancing is the Key, not trying to hold Balance. You are human so you get pulled off balance; coming back into Balance is a skill to be learned.
The good masters are so experienced with this that they appear to be always Centered. They still fall out of balance but regain it so quickly they end up with incredible power. Remember your body will have some tick or habit to remind you when you are off Center.
An advanced but clearly attainable skill is Rebalancing others by ReBalancing yourself. If you doubt this just think about the opposite on how you have come into a meeting or come home and in 5 minutes gotten everybody upset. You can actually do the reverse, helping others Center by being Centered yourself. Try it next time you are in a situation where someone with you is upset. Instead of trying to sooth them, focus on Centering your self and see what happens. Particularly effective on small kids and big bosses!
Good Masters are Never Balanced as they are constantly ReBalancing. How do you do this?
